Only recently did I find about this online food square off, wherein CNN married couple, Brandon and Kristy Griggs, compete for culinary bragging rights within their kitchen in Atlanta, with their friends and online readers to serve as judges.

In each installment, Brandon and Kristy will each cook a variation on the same ingredient or theme. Their dishes will be anonymously served to their friends, who will judge which they like better and why.

Each installment comes in this format:

1. Introduction of the series
2. How it Works
3. The food theme
4. Short description about the food theme
5. Brandon’s explanation on his dish
6. Kristen’s explanation on his dish
– items 5 and 6 can interchange
7. Judging time
8. The Winner!
9. Overall score to date
10. Parting thoughts from the couple
11. The recipes

At first I thought it was a web video series but upon trying making futile attempts to find videos, only did I realize this was a text based competition. I honestly got bumbed. Afterwards, reading through the posts and comments, the couple’s witty and at times ‘competitive’ dialogues to each other spices the competition to a notch. With the number of comments you find at the end of each article, you can see the couple has garnered quite a following.

Here is the list of the ongoing ‘episodes’ of this amazing online food battle:

Round 1: Chicken
Round 2: Summer Salads
Round 3: Pasta
Round 4: Chili
Round 5: Holiday Appetizers
Round 6: Holiday Drinks
Round 7: Soup
Round 8: Romantic Desserts
Round 9: Sliders

This is a good example of a bit of competition between couples is good if it helps enhancing skills. Just don’t go overboard that might lead to a divorce (I hope not!)

As to when this series will end, I’m not sure when. But I’m sure to follow them now and watch out on who will be the winner to the culinary rights from that little kitchen in Atlanta.
